Visiting the USA

February 28th, 2024

Leadership Coaching

Robin is in the midst of taking a course on Leadership Coaching. It is the discipline of using relational influence to develop and empower leaders. She is studying such topics as the heart of a coach, the coaching relationship, the client's agenda, defining the outcome and asking powerful questions. She hopes to be able to help Christian workers and missionaries excel in their ministries.

Circuit Riders

It was such a blessing to have the Circuit Riders from California visit Prague. Circuit Riders is a branch of YWAM. This was a team of 11 young people who were doing evangelism throughout Central Europe. They went to a number of parks and malls around Prague. It was so amazing to see their zeal to make Jesus known everywhere they went. A number of young people gave their lives to Jesus while the team was here.

As part of the outreach, they set up a small wading pool in the hallway of the church for baptisms. Six people came forward to be baptized and show their public dedication to Jesus Christ.

It was so exciting to see their contagious zeal for God and it's awesome to see this generation taking up the mantle and reaching out to share the love of Jesus Christ with those around them.

Medical Update

As you may know I (Roger) had thrombosis in my right leg and a blood clot in my right lung. On another note after more tests they found out I had some liver damage, Just a week ago I had a liver biopsy and am waiting for the results in a couple of weeks.

There are more opportunities opening up for us to minister in the Czech Republic and other nations in Central Europe. Please pray that God will give me wisdom on what to do and where to go.

Czech Republic Gathers to Support Ukraine

Czechs marked two years since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine with commemorative events, marches, rallies and fundraisers.

In Prague, thousands of people gathered in Old Town Square on Saturday afternoon to support the Ukrainian struggle against Russian aggression.

We continue to pray for and support efforts in helping our Christian friends and their churches, who we have worked with for many years.

We hope to visit again when we return from the States. The needs are great as the war continues. Pray with us that the violence and the bloodshed would end.

Elizabeth and Josiah Graduate

We are excited for Elizabeth and Josiah and so thankful to God for how He has lead them through the last four years. It is hard to believe, but they will both graduate from Calvin University this spring. These four years have flown by so fast. The picture below is when they first started at Calvin in September 2020!

In a nutshell, Josiah has already been accepted into Michigan State University School of Human Medicine (Medical School). Elizabeth is planning to take a gap year and work before she enters medical school. Next month our newsletter will feature an update devoted to Elizabeth and Josiah's journey.

Visiting the U.S.A.

We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you - we will be visiting the United States from mid-April through mid-May! Our trip is twofold: to celebrate Elizabeth and Josiah's graduation May 4th from University and to connect with family and friends in Ohio and Michigan.

As we take this journey, we would like to spend some time with you. Please don't hesitate to reach out via email or phone to coordinate a visit during our stay.

We are also continuing our efforts to raise funds to cover our airline tickets and travel expenses. The expenses are in the $3500-3800 range. We have part of this but still need to raise another $2500. Your continued support in this endeavor is deeply appreciated.

Also the lead we had on a car didn't work out. Therefore, we are currently seeking alternatives and would greatly appreciate any leads or suggestions you may have for borrowing a car (we can pay the insurance and maintenance) for the duration of our stay (3 1/2 weeks).

Thank you for considering this request, and we are truly grateful for any assistance you can provide. We look forward to seeing you during our time in the USA.

A Great Book

I recently read an amazing book. "By Life Or By Death" by Winfried Wentland who was a German missionary in Africa for many years. He had traveled to some of the most violent parts of Africa. Winfried had ministered among terrorists, revolutionaries, gangsters and criminals. Once you start reading this book, you will not be able to put it down. It is a real page turner.

  • Please pray that God would provide a car for our use while we are visiting the States.

  • Pray that God will provide the cost of airline tickets and travel.
