Giving Thanks!
As American Thanksgiving was this week, we were reminded how again and again the Lord has been faithful, and we are so thankful.
Who could have imagined that 33 years ago the Iron Curtain would come down? A couple of years later, we were then able to move to Czech Republic (then Czechoslovakia).
When we were smuggling Bibles in Central and Eastern Europe, it was hard to fathom that a day would ever come when Communism would fall and we could travel freely in this part of Europe, preaching the gospel and encouraging the believers.
It would not be possible all these years without you, our partners. We are thankful for how you have partnered with us in prayer, finances, and friendship. The journey continues, and we are glad that you are with us!
YWAM Central Europe
The Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Central European leadership team met in Krakow, Poland. It was a great time of fellowship, prayer, worship, and dreaming together. The ACTs leadership team represents 16 nations and over 200 people. We are thankful to have the opportunity to work with such awesome people! Robin is pictured here praying over the growing YWAM Polish team who joined us one of the evenings.
Ostrava, Czech Bible School
Roger and Robin taught in a Bible School on the Eastern side of the Czech Republic, very close to the Polish border. It was great to connect with long-time friends who last year took over a pastorate there and started a 9-month Bible School. We taught on the Father's Heart. It was a joy to spend time there teaching and ministering to the students.
Preaching
Roger was asked to preach three times this month in the cities of Ostrava and Prague. He was asked to preach on how to be an overcomer. In his message, he used the life of Abraham as a great example of one who overcame seemingly impossible odds.
Ukraine
Roger will travel to Ukraine with a van full of humanitarian supplies. He and his team will journey to Western Ukraine to meet their friends at Nehemiah, whom they have been working with for more than twenty-five years. They will also visit our pastor friends in the area.
The Ukrainians they collaborate with are aware of the real needs in Eastern Ukraine. Each van load of supplies costs about $5,000. Please keep them in your prayers as they drive through the border into Ukraine.
Prayer Requests
We still need $4,000 to cover Josiah's medical expenses from his bicycle accident and operation.
Please pray for safety for Roger during his humanitarian aid trip to Ukraine, ensuring no accidents and keeping him out of harm's way.
Pray for our evangelistic outreaches in Prague leading up to Christmas, hoping that people will be open to hearing the Good News of Jesus Christ.
We also ask for traveling mercies for Elizabeth and Josiah as they travel home to Prague for Christmas and for good family time.
Additionally, we are in need of a lightweight laptop for our ministry travels around Central Europe. If anyone would like to donate a used or new one, please contact us, and we can give you the details on where to mail it. The kids leave for Prague on December 13th. Donations towards purchasing it are also welcome.
